I remember my eighth grade graduation. 

-I gave a speech that I don’t remember. 

-I gave my mom a rose with a note that I don’t remember what I said. 

-I walked with some girl down the isle that I don’t remember. 

So I really remember everything I don’t remember. I knew it was just a stepping stone before high school. Then things got interesting. 

My brother graduated today. Even though he has a bigger mustache, broader shoulders, a wider waist, and a deeper voice at times, I am still older. 

One of the cool things about our age difference is that I get to serve in the ministries he is still in. So while he was in junior high, I got to lead worship for him and 200 other middle schoolers. 

I will never forget that he was one of the few who was always excited to worship, and who would worship passionately. He doesn’t even like music, but he has never been afraid to lift his hands up high, jump up and down, or scream and clap as loud as he can. 

So much further along than I was at his age. 

I’m pretty honored as his big brother that I got to be a small part of this time in his life. I hated middle school. I don’t know about him, but he seems to be coming out pretty well grounded. 

I often feel family are the hardest people to reach out too. I often feel they’re the hardest to do anything with. But to see as a worship leader that my brother loves to worship is so rewarding. 

I’m not that great. So to this shows me that God is working in me and those that I lead with to get at these little smelly pre-teens. 

I don’t know if my brother will ever read this, but this for all you all out there. 

Life is rough, I know that. Then adding on to that a ministry and it seems impossible. I don’t do what I do because I’m fantastic at it. I do what I do because God is fantastic at it, and He wants to use me. 

The fruit isn’t always, or sometimes ever seen. We have to realize though that we are planting seeds in hope that kids like my brother can grow up to be strong and grounded in their faith; regardless of what field they go into to.    

Now he moves on. Which people do. To know that I had done everything I could for him and his relationship with Christ would be a satisfying feeling. 

Time is short. We need to invest wisely and take advantage of the opportunities we have with people. 

And congrats, Jordan Michael Campbell   (Middle names are fun)
